The Boogie is an original Bronx-born story created by Macho Miranda, beginning as a novel and expanding into the feature film The Boogie Movie. Built from the energy, humor, pressure, danger, and culture of the streets, The Boogie is a story about survival, loyalty, ambition, consequences, and the choices people make when life gives them no easy way out.
At its heart, The Boogie is more than a book and more than a movie. It is an independent creative movement—one built to represent real voices, real neighborhoods, and the kind of characters audiences recognize because they feel alive. The world of The Boogie blends drama, comedy, tension, and street-level reality into a story that is entertaining, unpredictable, and deeply connected to the community that inspired it.
The novel gives readers the foundation of the story: the characters, conflicts, motivations, and emotional stakes behind the world of The Boogie. It invites audiences to step deeper into the lives of the people at the center of the story and experience the events that shaped them before they reach the screen.
The Boogie Movie brings that world to life as a feature film written, directed, produced, and executive produced by Macho Miranda, with Frankie J. Quinones and Angelo “Veelito” Melendez helping to executive produce and produce the project. Together, they helped bring an independent vision to the screen with a deep commitment to authentic, community-driven storytelling.
The film’s cast reflects the spirit and diversity of New York City itself. The Boogie Movie features a powerful mix of famous Latino and Black actors from NYC, well-known comedians, social media influencers, professional wrestlers, local leaders, people from the neighborhoods where the film was shot, and the friends and family who helped bring the story to life. This combination gives the film a raw, familiar, and authentic energy—because many of the faces on screen come directly from the culture and community that inspired the story.
Together, the novel and film represent a bold independent vision: to create original stories outside the traditional system, build meaningful intellectual property, and prove that powerful entertainment can come directly from the community. The Boogie is for the people who love raw storytelling, unforgettable characters, and stories that move with rhythm, grit, humor, and purpose.
This is only the beginning.
